9: Allies and Enemies Ch 9 6 and 17 pressed themselves against the outside of the barn, listening for anyone coming, making sure 11 didn't see them.

They heard quiet talking inside the barn. They pressed up their hearing receptors against the wall to hear it.

"Guys, is that you?" 17 whispered.

From inside the barn, 9 answered.

"Yeah, it's us. Is that you, 17? Is 6 with you?" he asked.

"What's going on in there?"

"11 came back, but he's gone mad!" said 1. "He's wearing some sort of suit with many legs. If he finds you, he'll capture you with us. We're trapped in this stall and we can't get out."
