EDIT: So apparently Disney went ahead and took my shirt down on RedBubble. They legally have the rights to since they own Marvel, but I do kinda feel like this whole thing brought attention to it and sped up the inevitable. (It's not the first time it's happened, either.)
It just kinda sucks since that was my most profitable design by a wide margin, so I'm pretty bummed about it. Not to mention I was really trying to save for a Cintiq Companion, so this really stifles that progress.
I just wish my original designs would sell more so I wouldn't have to skirt around copyright and all that.
I have been looking into alternative websites that do allow their creators to make shirts with copyrighted characters on them, so I may start doing that and trying to add more original designs to RedBubble.

ANYWAY, I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped me out. Any kind of retweet, reblog, share, message you sent to The Variety Shop, etc. means a lot to me. I'm very grateful to have friends who are willing to get behind me when I need some support.
Definitely keep an eye on them since they have a history of consistently stealing fan art for profit. Hopefully people will take the hint and they'll shut down, but until then, be sure to have each other's backs and do what you can to call out art theft.

Have a great day, everyone!

Well, I guess it was only a matter of time.

You guys remember this?

Well, looks like some other shop has taken the design and put it on their shirts: thevarietyshop.myshopify.com/p…

If that link doesn't work, here's a Facebook post they made: www.facebook.com/thevarietysho…

I'm apparently not the only one, too. It looks like this shop is making a habit of stealing designs. With that in mind, I have a quick favor to ask of everyone:
Here are the instructions for filing a claim: www.shopify.ca/legal/dmca
I'll go ahead and file on for my design, and I encourage everyone to do the same.

If you recognize ANY of the art in this shop, it's best to let the artist know.
You can also look up designs on Google by right-clicking on the image, and clicking Search Google for image. I know when I did it for mine, the first result was my RedBubble.

The bigger of a stink we make about this, the sooner the company will act at taking down any stolen artwork.

Be sure to spread the word! Make posts on all your social media if you catch them red handed. Let your artist friends know, make a journal!

Thanks in advanced! Let's make sure we artists have each other's backs. :)
